I would highly recommend reading the entire book

The summaries are short (should be, I suppose), and sometimes lack vital information. Some things are inaccurate or misleading (i.e.: one section makes it sound as though Luis lost all of his boxing matches, but it was just the one his family came to see. Also, the shop teacher incident involved a circular saw, not a "band saw" as stated in the summary. I know, that isn't really pertinent.) I am reading the book, and will use the summaries, perhaps, to jog my memory. That said, I would highly recommend reading the entire book. I am a teacher, and gang involvement is definitely an issue at my school.

While the book is much better than just reading the chapter summaries, this is a great companion to help jog the memory and come up with discussion topics. It is also a very good substitute if you are just too bogged down with other homework and reading to actually read the entire book Always Running.
