Review
"Although the book is targeted at well-informed horse owners, it also would be a good reference for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary students." (Doody's, 16 September 2011)

solid information
By K9 Canseliet
I agree with the other review that the topic is a bit dry but I disagree as to the idea that this book is somehow making it worse. It is part of the recommended coursework for an equine nutrition class taught by a veterinary school that I am taking and this book presents the information similarity to how it is taught in our class. This is a very in depth look at equine nutrition but it is extremely valuable to anyone needing the information at that level. it has many charts and tables. it has a very comprehensive selection of further suggested readings. if you just want to know what to feed your horse, this might be too much information for you. However, if you are actually studying the effect of nutrition on horses, this is a valuable resource to have on your shelf. I refer to it often.

Good read
By Sam
I really enjoyed this book because it is full of research and it is easy to search for specific areas of interest/need. It is not your "horse nutrition for dummies" type of book, but for the real fanatic or animal science student... you will get a lot from it. I would have enjoyed some case studies and possibly some more "hands on" topics, but it is not meant to be written that way.
